I happened to chance upon this NTUC clubhouse when I was attending a free gym trial by Anytime Fitness. Coincidentally, I was trying to find a hangout spot for me and my boyfriend. So there I was, capturing videos of the clubhouse to show him its unique amenities. After sending the videos via Telegram, I received an immediate response from him suggesting that we should visit the place.
I can’t recall the last time we were there; perhaps it was a couple of weeks ago. We visit the place quite regularly, and it almost feels like a second home. The outdoor area provides tables and chairs for dining, conveniently located outside Anytime Fitness. Naturally, we share the space with gym-goers. There’s even a vending machine offering snacks and on-the-go meals, perfect for enjoying inside the clubhouse.
The clubhouse exudes comfort and homeliness. It features tables and chairs for playing our own board games or enjoying snacks from the vending machine. Plus, there’s an air hockey table where my boyfriend and I challenged each other to a game, with the loser treating us to a round of Xbox console gaming. For just $2, the Xbox console provides 10 minutes of gameplay.
The XBox console offers a variety of games, but we settled on a Garfield go-kart racing game, which proved to be a blast despite my frequent detours into the water. We enjoyed three rounds of gameplay, with me footing the bill since I lost at air hockey.
There’s even an arcade machine named Future Boy, requiring just one token per play. With numerous games to choose from, I opted for Cheese Chase, a straightforward game where a mouse collects cheese cubes while avoiding monsters and lava. Despite losing a few lives due to monster encounters, I had a great time playing this nostalgic game. It was truly indeed a blast from the past.
There are also three claw machines available. Each of them costs two tokens for each try. I tried my luck at the Shining Crane, the one on the right offering a chance to win a soft toy. Although unsuccessful on my first try, I was thrilled to win a bunny soft toy on my second attempt. Winning toys from claw machines isn’t as easy as it seems!
The Capsule 4.0 was pretty straightforward. I just had to put two tokens and press the triangular button with an arrow on it and my prize would come out. I chose the dinosaur capsule as that was the only one that managed to capture my attention.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at NTUC Club Clubhouse @ Choa Chu Kang Centre. It's an excellent hangout spot for couples, families, or even if you just need some downtime for yourself. The dining area serves as a perfect spot to catch up on some Netflix while indulging in the vending machine snacks. The air hockey and foosball tables are fantastic ice breakers, especially if you have friends or family joining you.
For those in the mood for some gaming, the Xbox console is equipped with a variety of games, providing a great opportunity for you and your loved ones to have a blast. To top off your experience, indulge in some arcade-like games such as Future Boy or try your luck at the claw machines, where you might just bring home a soft toy.
