It’s been 8 months since Bird Paradise reopened its doors to the public. If you haven’t stopped by for some family or couple fun, now’s the time to check it out! Until December 17, Mandai is offering a 30% discount on two adult tickets! Why wait? Instead of paying $48 per ticket, you only pay $67.20 for 2 pax! Don’t say I never jio hor! Read on to discover the wonders awaiting you at the newly revamped aviary sanctuary!

What to Bring Before You Go to Bird Paradise:

1. Essential cables and power banks for devices:

• Ensure your mobile phones are fully charged. Take extra precaution by charging your power banks to ensure they are fully juiced as well. Don’t forget your cables! If you tend to forget (just like me), consider investing in a 2-in-1 power bank that includes cables, like the one from Funky SG.

2. Beat the Heat:

Ever felt the excruciating heat at the sky amphitheatre despite the massive ceiling fan? Fear not! Get this portable neck fan from Shopee; it comes with four different fan speeds and can even be hung around your neck for customizable comfort!

3. Prioritize Protection:

As an avid skincare lover, I can’t stress enough the importance of sunscreen. Don’t give me that excuse that it’s sticky and a hassle! Before your avian trip, apply at least 2 fingers’ worth of the Isntree sun gel to your face. Carry the Isntree sunstick in your bag and reapply every 2 hours. It’s matte, so no excuses about stickiness due to sweat mixing with sunscreen!

4. Gear Up for Photography:

If you opt for a DSLR, I’d recommend the Sony A7 C for its full frame CMOS sensor and its 5axis image stabilisation. If you prefer Canon, consider the Canon EOS 700D for its large sensors and LCD touch screen. Don’t forget extra batteries; one in your camera and another packed, as constant use drains the battery quickly. Also, bring an additional SD Card; one in your camera and another in your bag.

5. Navigate Effortlessly:

Download the Mandai app (available for iOS and Android) and follow the step-by-step guide to effortlessly navigate the expansive paradise, ensuring you don’t miss a single attraction.

6. Explore with Ease:

Delve into the app’s map and legend to locate essential facilities such as toilets, nursing rooms, prayer rooms, water refill stations, and various F&B outlets spread across the paradise.

7. Engage and Share Stories:

Make your visit interactive by sharing intriguing stories about the avian wonders you encounter. Engage fellow visitors and create memorable experiences at different locations.

8. Opt for Convenience:

Consider signing up for the Mandai Wild Pass for a smoother experience. New users can fill in required particulars and submit, while existing users can quickly re-enter their email and click resend for added convenience.

9. Ample Water Supply

The weather's scorching hot nowadays—remember when it reached 37.5 degrees in Ang Mo Kio? To prevent heatstroke and fainting due to excessive heat, stay hydrated! Grab a case of 500ml drinking water from Good Earth or a water bottle for refilling at Bird Paradise's water stations.

10. Umbrella For Weather Protection

Invest in a portable yet sturdy umbrella that can shield you from even the heaviest rains. Try this cute, portable umbrella from Shopee, boasting a UPF of over 50, capable of protecting you rain or shine. It’s better to be prepared than sorry; you wouldn’t want to end up completely soaked, would you?

11. Spacious haversack and mini backpacks for essentials

Ensure you have one large haversack and four mini backpacks. Let’s say you're a family of four; assign Dad to carry the backpack. Regarding mini backpacks, it's simple—each one holds essentials such as water, snacks, a portable fan, and an umbrella. Distribute them accordingly.

12. Embrace the Adventure:

There you have it, a 7-step guide on the essentials you need for your avian adventure! With only 5 days left, don’t forget to grab the 30% off deal for 2 adult pax. I hope this guide will be useful for families with kids or even couples seeking a romantic yet outdoorsy date activity! Have fun, stay safe, and stay hydrated!
