Imagine my surprise when I checked my DM on instagram and found out that KFC extended me an invitation to their end of year Xmas party at their revamped outlet at East Point. Thrilled by the chance to indulge in free chicken, I gladly brought my partner, Amirul Daniez, along with me.

We arrived early and smoothly checked in, our names promptly added to the lucky draw. It was a childhood dream come true—I'd be telling everyone about being invited by KFC for free chicken!

As I entered the outlet, I was greeted with balloons and streamers adorning the celing, which created a carnival like atmosphere. I squealed with joy when I saw a photo station which were decked with placards of chicken drumsticks and buckets for us to use as props.

Obviously, I urged Amirul to pose with the props and it resulted in a beautifully captured moment. He even took one for me and I chose the KFC bucket of chicken which made me look so small! Haha. We couldn't forget to take a compulsory couple shot, so we asked one of our team mates to take one for us.

The setup resembled a buffet, albeit a rationed one. I admired the staff's efficiency as they swiftly catered to my request for free cheese fries and crispy chicken, making my heart soar as I savored every bite.

Fifteen minutes in, the MC announced the first game—a trivia round followed by a spin on the wheel of fortune. Questions about KFC's history challenged us, and being die-hard KFC fans, they weren't as straightforward as expected.

In total, there were 5 questions, and I eagerly raised my hand for the third one, which asked about when KFC went strawless. Swiftly searching for the answer, I confidently exclaimed “June 2018!” After stating it into the mic and getting it right, I was thrilled to earn the opportunity to spin the wheel! Yay!

I spun the wheel hoping for 50 but landed a $20 voucher due to a gust of wind. Nevertheless, it’s a handy treat for future chicken cravings, and my partner captured the moment—it’s a cherished memory!

Next up was a scavenger hunt, racing to find 10 items. Although we didn't win due to our speed, the experience bonded us with fellow KFC enthusiasts. The best part? Creating a boyband pose, mimicking the iconic Korean heart shape—a hilarious highlight!

The anticipated lucky draw offered three prizes, A gaming headphone, JBL earbuds , a powerbank and a JBL speaker. However, luck didn't favor me. Still, witnessing a teammate's win filled me with genuine happiness.

Ofc , the party ended with a bang for me. The moment I found out we could dabao our chicken, I quickly asked for a takeaway box and plastic bag to bring the chickies for the fam. As a parting gesture, the staff handed out goodie bags filled with decals, a bottle of coke, and other fun items.
To KFC: thank you for the personal invite. My partner and I had a blast capturing moments, making new friends, and, of course, relishing in the joy of eating chicken.
